PC: Brissett, McGill Meet The Media

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jacoby Brissett and T.Y. McGill discuss the season opener against Georgia Southern with the local media.

Jacoby Brissett

"We're getting ready to play another team. Everybody is just tired of hitting each other."

"It's the ultimate preparation, making sure that the tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs are on the same page and that me and coach Canada are on the same page."

"I'm just wanting to make sure I don't mess up the first snap and then just go from there."

"It was probably because we weren't getting what we wanted... it was frustrating, just not coming out with the outcome."

"Just game management, taking the easy completions... making sure we get in and out of the huddle. Just taking it one play at a time."

"I'm good friends with Tyler Murphy and as soon as he knew we were playing them the first game he called me."

"They are a great team. They beat Florida at Florida last year."

"He's been great, helping me out as far as understanding how the game went."

"Their competitive nature coming into this year and accepting the challenge of making more plays."

T.Y. McGill

"With the rotation... it's great because we see it like we're no better than the guy behind us."

"It's a good thing that we can rotate like that."

"I'm in my senior year now and in four or five months that will be the end of my football career here at NC State."

"That's important. This is my last chance to do what I want to do here at NC State and start a new chapter in my life, so my senior year is really important."

"From the d-line position, we know that we have a running quarterback and he's not much of a passer so we're rushing the passer when they do pass and [try to] keep the quarterback contained."

"Maybe we'll see some of the option... we'll just adjust to play that."

"Coach Doeren's standpoint, it's this game. This game is first. That's what we focus on, no matter who the opponent is. We need to go out there and make plays to win games."

"The leadership. On a team, leadership is really important and I feel like last season, I'm not saying we didn't have good leaders, but we had a new coaching staff and guys didn't know which way to go, if that makes sense."

"The main focus for the defense is turnovers on defense, and we're going to pound the run. That was mainly it. We're wanting to pound the run."

"I'm seeing these guys are very competitive. They come out each and every day willing to get better... they aren't cocky. They are humble and willing to learn. That's what you want from your young players."

"There is a time to play and a time to learn. When we are in the meetings and on the field we're learning."
