Marshall Sets Visit

Raleigh (NC) Millbrook tailback Marcus Marshall gives Pack Pride the latest on his recruitment.

Millbrook's Marcus Marshall had a tough night against crosstown rival Wake Forest but he had nothing but praise for the Cougars after the Wildcat's 35-10 loss.

"Obviously they came out more hype than us. They had more aggression and at half time we were talking our players up to try to get something going but they're were just the more physical team tonight."

Marshall and the rest of his offensive counterparts had to account for a college-like defensive line led by junior DT Dexter Lawrence and sophomore DE Xach Gill.

"They were tough but we knew going in they were tough but we prepared for that all week," said Marshall. "We game planned for it but they executed and sometimes we didn't but that's just how it goes sometimes."

On the recruiting front, NC State has offered Marshall and he had a chance to take in State's game against Florida State.

"I thought the atmosphere was great and their running backs are almost always successful so I felt like I would fit in well," he said. "The game was definitely hype. James (Smith-Williams) has been in my ear a lot."

Another team mentioned prominently has been Wake Forest.

"I like Wake Forest. I just need to get around them some more to see how I feel like I would fit in."

Marshall said that he hopes to make his final decision once he completes his official visits. For now he has three scheduled in the month of November.

"I've got three official visits set for November. I'm going to James Madison, NC State and Wake Forest. I think I'm going to NC State on Nov 15."

When the time comes to make his college choice, Marshall has the benefit of leaning on his older brother Keith who is now a junior at Georgia.

"My brother just tells me where ever I go to make sure I fit in at the school if I wasn't playing football. That's what he always tells me."
