Millbrook's Marcus Marshall had a tough night against crosstown rival Wake Forest but he had nothing but praise for the Cougars after the Wildcat's 35-10 loss.
"Obviously they came out more hype than us. They had more aggression
and at half time we were talking our players up to try to get
something going but they're were just the more physical team
Marshall and the rest of his offensive counterparts had to account
for a college-like defensive line led by junior DT Dexter Lawrence and
sophomore DE Xach Gill.
"They were tough but we knew going in they were tough but we
prepared for that all week," said Marshall. "We game planned for it
but they executed and sometimes we didn't but that's just how it
On the recruiting front, NC State has offered Marshall and he had a
chance to take in State's game against Florida State.
"I thought the atmosphere was great and their running backs are
almost always successful so I felt like I would fit in well," he
said. "The game was definitely hype. James (Smith-Williams) has been
in my ear a lot."
Another team mentioned prominently has been Wake Forest.
"I like Wake Forest. I just need to get around them some more to see
how I feel like I would fit in."
Marshall said that he hopes to make his final decision once he
completes his official visits. For now he has three scheduled in the
month of November.
