NC State men's basketball is spending its fall break in the Big Apple. Fourth-year head coach Mark Gottfried and the team will be taking an educational trip to New York City Oct. 8-12.
The Wolfpack is using this trip to New York to not only get in some work on the court, but to also enjoy educational and cultural opportunities found in the largest city in the United States. Upon arriving in New York, the team will take in a show at The Apollo Theater. The team will also visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the Empire State Building, the New York Stock Exchange and the American Museum of National History. The Wolfpack will also practice twice in New York, have a workout in Central Park and take in a Broadway performance.
The NCAA allows for a team to take an educational trip as long as the student-athletes do not miss class time. The rule allows teams to gain new experiences on and off the court and to immerse themselves in cultural opportunities.
Fans following the Pack's educational trip can check out GoPack.com, CoachGott.com as well as the team's social media platforms. Use the hashtag #WolfpackNYC to watch the Pack take on New York.
NC State, which has played in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments, will hold its Throwback With The Pack event Friday, Oct. 17 at Reynolds Coliseum. The team's exhibition contest will be Saturday, Nov. 8 vs. Queens College at PNC Arena.
