Dave Doeren announced today that several players will be suspended for the Louisville game due to an off-campus incident involving BB guns.

The players suspended are: Johnathan Alston, Jerod Fernandez, Josh Jones, Justin Jones, Pharoah McKever, Jumichael Ramos, and Michael Stevens. Players placed on probation for the incident are: Tyler Jones, Kalen McCain, Deyshawn Middleton, Terronne Prescod, and Maurice Trowell.

"These are good young men who made a mistake in not recognizing that this activity could have resulted in someone being injured," said Doeren in a released statement. "We have discussed this with them and they understand that they are being held responsible for their actions. The information was referred to the university's office of student conduct as well. Our players admitted their mistake and we will help them learn from it as well."

Jerod Fernandez and Josh Jones are major losses, as both are defensive starters. Johnathan Alston is listed as a co-starter with Bo Hines in the slot, and Justin Jones is in the rotation at defensive tackle.
