Ball Recaps Wolfpack Visit

Stafford (VA) junior offensive lineman Josh Ball is tracking as a top priority for several programs. Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

He was offered after turning heads at a summer camp and Josh Ball returned to Carter-Finley Stadium to watch the Wolfpack take on the number one team in America.
NC State isn’t alone in telling Ball he’s a key part of their recruiting strategy. ACC rival Virginia is a school Ball is thinking a lot about. They have offered and their improvement on the field has been noted. Ball was in Charlottesville recently. He watched UVA open their season against UCLA. West Virginia and Maryland have also hosted Ball as a junior unofficial visitor.
Between those schools no one is standing out. But a couple of weeks back NC State was Ball’s focus.
NC State has become a big part of Ball’s life. It’s one of the schools that’s extending the opportunity to play football and get a free education. It’s a school he’s visited more than once. It’s where he watched the defending national champs take the field and get a scare.
As Ball watched NC State test FSU he couldn’t help but be impressed with the atmosphere and the fight the Wolfpack gave the Noles.

“The fans were crazy down there. It was a great time. It was an experience I liked. I thought they did really well against Florida State for them being a top ranked team. I think they did very well. You can tell they’re building their program up.”
Ball got the full gameday treatment. He was on the field watching warm-ups, talking to other recruits, and exchanging some words with coaches as the fans filled the stadium and started making noise. He was right there as the players took the field before kickoff.
At some schools recruits don’t go into the locker room after a loss. But Ball did go into the locker room.
“I talked to all of the coaches and wished them good luck for the rest of the season. I’ve got a good relationship with Coach Barlow. I had been there for a camp and that’s when they offered. I’ve been there before and I’ve gotten to know him a little bit.”
