RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Mark Gottfried met with the media following the win over Jacksonville.

"The takeaway for me is I though we improved in some areas from the other night."

"I thought we guarded the ball much better."

"We rebounded the ball a lot better. I thought in the first half if we had made some shots around the rim and a few foul shots we probably would have had 45 or 50 points."

"Overall it's a good win and it helps us build our team."

"We actually played well with those freshmen in the game."

"BeeJay had a big night. He can become a presence for us inside. I like that he's beginning to step forward. We need that from him."

"To be honest I wasn't paying attention to the triple-double, nobody had let me know. He had played a good long stretch. He played 16 straight minutes in the first half and nine minutes in the second half."

"On the one possession, I was surprised they kept taking it to him.At some point, you learn your lesson, but they just kept taking it in there and getting it blocked."

"He's a guy that, as he continues to get in better shape and continues to improve, he can become a good player for our team."

"Caleb and Cody, they both have an aggressive mentality. I like that about them. They come in the game and they are ready."

"He was just hungry, biting at the bit and ready to go. I thought they both played really well tonight, Caleb and Cody. They did a nice job."

"I like that Lennard goes and gets the ball off the rim... that's his niche. He's the guy that goes and gets the ball every time."

"It was a quiet night, but he gets a double-double. He's playing really well."

"I don't know that there's just one thing he's doing differently, but I do think the conditioning helps."
