    Boise State Notables

    LAST TIME OUT
Derrick Marks scored 31 points to carry Boise State to victory Tuesday, against in-state rival Idaho. The Broncos won 86-75 in a neutral-site game at CenturyLink Arena in Downtown Boise. Boise State shot 54.9 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 free throws.

    ABOUT NC STATE
The Wolfpack is off to a 5-0 start and receiving votes in the latest Associated Press Poll. Head coach Mark Gottfried is in his fourth season, leading NC State to 70 wins in his first three seasons, the school’s most in a three-year span since 1973-76.

Trevor Lacey leads the team at 18.0 points per game, while Lennard Freeman is pulling down a team-high 9.4 rebounds per contest. The Wolfpack has played all five games at home so far, including an 84-72 win Wednesday, against Richmond.

    SERIES HISTORY
This is the first meeting between Boise State and North Carolina State in men’s basketball.

    BRONCOS VS ACC
Boise State has never played a men’s basketball game against a school in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Broncos have faced current ACC member Louisville twice in the NCAA Tournament, but both meetings (1994 and 2008) came before the Cardinals joined the ACC.

    BRONCOS IN N.C.
Boise State has never played a game in the state of North Carolina. The Broncos are 4-0 all-time against teams from the state. They have beaten four different teams, all in Boise (Campbell, Davidson, Elon and Elizabeth City State University).

    ROAD WARRIORS
Boise State will play six of its first seven games away from home. It is only the second time since becoming a four-year school in 1968-69 the Broncos will have one home game in their first seven contests. In 2009-10 Boise State was away from home for seven of its first eight games. The 1978-79 team had six road games and one home game in its first seven contests, including a pair of three-game road trips sandwiching the home opener.

    TIME TRAVEL
Boise State will play in four different time zones during the first six games of the season for just the second time in program history. The first four games of the 2000-01 campaign were played in four different time zones. This year only two of the Broncos’ first seven games will be in the Mountain Time Zone- its home opener against Montana (Nov. 18) and a neutral-site game against Idaho (Nov. 25) in Downtown Boise.

    POWER PLAY
Boise State is 2-36 all-time on the road against schools currently in the “Power 5” conferences. The Broncos have lost 14-straight such road games. Their last win came at Oregon State, Dec. 30, 2003. The other victory was at Washington State, Dec. 12, 1973. Under Leon Rice, Boise State is 0-10 in road games against schools from the “Power 5” conferences, but 5-1 in home or neutral-site games.

    VANDALIZER
Derrick Marks scored 31 points against Idaho (Nov. 25), continuing his trend of big games against the Vandals. Marks scored 104 points in four career games against Idaho, including shooting 45-of-50 from the free throw line in those games.

The last three games were played at CenturyLink Arena in Downtown Boise- home of the Idaho Stampede (NBA D League). Marks averaged 31.7 points in those three games, scoring 25 as a sophomore, 39 as a junior and 31 as a senior.

    CRASHING COBY’S CLUB
Anthony Drmic is on pace to join an exclusive club at Boise State. Drmic has eclipsed the 1,500-point plateau, but is on the verge of a few more milestones. He is nearing 500 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals for his career.

If Drmic achieves them all, he will join Coby Karl as the only Broncos in program history to score 1,500 points, grab 500 rebounds, dish 200 assists and swipe 100 steals.

    ONE-TWO PUNCH
Derrick Marks’ 31 points scored against Idaho (Nov. 25) are the most points scored in a single game in the Mountain West this season. Anthony Drmic’s 29-point effort against Montana (Nov. 18) is the second-highest output in the conference.

    FINDING THE RIGHT MIX
In the first five games, eight different Broncos have been in the starting lineup and 14 Broncos have seen playing time in the first half of a game. Boise State has used 90 different lineup combinations.

The group of Derrick Marks, Mikey Thompson, Anthony Drmic, Rob Heyer and Nick Duncan has shared the floor the most so far, playing together for 20:55 of game action.

That group has been +19 during its time on the court. That lineup was the starting five against Idaho (Nov. 25) and they played almost 11 minutes together against the Vandals.
