Baumann, a four-year starter for the Pack, set the NC State career marks for most punts (258) and punting yards (10,526) during his senior season - both of those marks rank sixth in ACC history. This season, Baumann currently ranks fifth in the FBS in punting with an average of 45.8; the top mark in the conference along with his 20 punts of at least 50 yards. He was named the Ray Guy Player of the Week after the Pack’s Presbyterian win - 4 punts for an average of 55.2 yards. Baumann is the first Pack punter to earn All-ACC accolades since Tim Kilpatrick in 1992.
Shadrach Thornton leads the Pack in rushing yards (811) and rushing TDs (9) this season. He ranks sixth in the ACC in rushing and ninth in touchdowns scored. Over the last two games, both Pack wins, Thornton has averaged 135.5 yards on the ground (44 carries, 271 yards).
Senior Thomas Teal is the top tackler among the Pack’s defensive line, as he has 46 stops on the season. He also had eight tackles for loss and three sacks, in addition to two forced fumbles. In the Pack’s win at North Carolina this past weekend, Teal had a team-high six tackles including a sack and two tackles for loss.
Teal’s classmate, Art Norman, leads the Pack in sacks with 6.5 on the season, and tied for third with eight tackles for loss. In the win at Syracuse, he recorded 2.5 sacks. He currently ranks third in school history with 23.5 career sacks - needing 2.5 in the Pack’s bowl game to break Mario Williams’ school record.
NC State now waits to hear about its bowl destination, with an announcement on Sunday, Dec. 7.
