NOTES: NC State recruited Emanuel McGirt extremely hard and it paid off in November when the in-state offensive tackle committed to the Wolfpack over Georgia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina among others. Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons is extremely high on the Wolfpack commitment.

"When evaluating McGirt, he is one I like because each time I see him, he gets better," said Simmons. "It is nice to see a prospect developing physically, improving fundamentally, and the more he competes, the more confidence I see.

"He is an athletic offensive lineman who can move in space. He has good reach, his feet are a strength, and he is one who can move around with the defensive ends of today. Balance is an area he can improve in -- he can lunge -- he needs to work on his base, anchor down, and trust himself when engaged. As he fills out his frame, develops more in the lower-body, he will get better here.

"The bend is there. He flashes flat-back, but can pop up and play high at times. Shows he can fire off the ball, but needs to work on hand placement and holding his blocks longer. I like his upside in pass-protection with his."

"Overall, McGirt is still more of a project in progress with the best football ahead of him," added Simmons. "He has been adding good weight at a good pace. He will continue to do that, and as he improves his weight, adds strength, and becomes more consistent in technique, he has a chance to be a very good one. He has a lot of the tools you look for in a college tackle, so the Wolfpack staff has a chance to develop McGirt into a very good one. The upside is there and McGirt is very smart, so look for him to pick up on things, improve fairly quickly, and become a player in the future in Raleigh."
