SEMINOLES PLAY HOST TO NC STATE ON LETTER-WINNERS DAY
Florida State, which has an 8-2 record at home and has won five consecutive games at home in the Donald L. Tucker Center plays host to NC State on Saturday, January 17 at 1:30. The Seminoles have won each of their home games since topping UCF on December 6 and opened their nine-game ACC home schedule with a victory over Virginia Tech (86-75) on January 6.
Additionally, the Seminoles have won seven of their last eight home games since defeating The Citadel on November 25. Included in those wins are victories over four teams from the state of Florida (UCF, North Florida, Stetson and the University of Florida) and its first ACC victory of the season over the Hokies. Florida State’s home game against NC State is sandwiched by four road games (two on both side of its game against the Wolfpack). The Seminoles have already played two road games prior to Saturday’s game at Syracuse and at Pitt and will play at Clemson and at North Carolina after Saturday’s game against NC State.
Following Saturday’s game against NC State, the Seminoles head back out on the road for games at Clemson (Monday, January 19, 9:00 p.m.) and at North Carolina (Saturday, January 24, 2:00 p.m.) before returning home for three consecutive home games against Wake Forest (January 28), Miami (February 1) and Clemson (February 4, 9:00 p.m.).
LETTERWINNERS DAY ON SATURDAY AGAINST NC STATE
Florida State will play host to NC State on Saturday, January 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Letterwinners Day for the Seminole basketball alumni.
Head coach Leonard Hamilton, his staff and players will welcome back nearly 60 basketball players and managers including Dave Cowens (Florida State’s all-time leading rebounder and first ever All-American), Ron King (a member of the Seminoles’ 1972 NCAA National finalist team) and Hugh Durham (one of the top players and coaches in school history). The basketball alumni will be honored on Friday night with a reception and throughout the game on Saturday.
HAMILTON TO MOVE INTO SECOND WITH A VICTORY OVER NC STATE
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton enters Saturday’s home game against NC State looking to move into a tie for second on the Seminoles’ list of all-time wins by a head coach. He has 228 career wins and is within one win of moving into a tie with the legendary Hugh Durham who won 229 games as Florida State’s head coach from 1967-78. Durham’s tenure at Florida State included an appearance in the 1972 NCAA title game.

Junior Devon Bookert made three 3-point shots against Pitt on Wednesday night at the Peterson Events Center, and reached the 100 3-point shots made plateau for his career. He became the 20th player in school history to reach 100 career 3-point shots and needs only 11 made shots from long range to move into Florida State’s top 15 for career 3-point shots made.

SEMINOLES WITH A POSITIVE ASSIST:TURNOVER RATIO AGAINST PITT
Florida State finished its game against Pitt on Wednesday night with a positive assist:turnover ratio of 13 assists and a season-low seven turnovers. It marked the sixth time in 17 games (and second time in four ACC games) this season that Florida State finished with a positive assist:turnover ratio.
The Seminoles also earned a positive ratio in their ACC opener against Notre Dame on December 13.
SEMINOLES WITH A SEASON-LOW FOR TURNOVERS AGAINST PITT
Florida State committed a season-low seven turnovers in its game on the road at Pittsburgh on Wednesday night.
The Seminoles were charged with only two second half turnovers and enters Saturday’s game against NC State with only two turnovers in the last 21 minutes of playing time. The Seminoles’ season-low seven turnovers (five in the first half and two in the second half) were their fewest in a game since committing eight against North Carolina on February 17, 2014
FLORIDA STATE GOING TO THE BOARDS
Florida State has outrebounded eight of its last 11 opponents and enters Saturday’s game against NC State with a +2.5 rebounding margin. The Seminoles have had a positive rebound margin in each of the last seven seasons and are looking to extend that streak to eight straight years this season.
FLORIDA STATE IN UPPER HALF OF ACC IN BLOCKED SHOTS CATEGORY
Florida State, which has blocked more than twice as many shots as its opponents this season (77-38), is ranked seventh in the ACC in blocked shots.
The Seminoles blocked a school-record tying and ACC season-high 15 shots in their win over USF at the Orange Bowl Classic on December 20. Since their 15 blocked shots against USF, the Seminoles have blocked 45 shots in their last seven games (6.4 bpg) while their opponents have blocked a total of only 18 shots (0.9 bpg). In ACC play, the Seminoles have blocked an average of nearly five shots per game with seven coming against Pitt (January 14), six coming against Virginia Tech (January 6), five coming against Syracuse (January 11) and one coming against Notre Dame (December 13).
