Recruiting Scene: Gallaspy had a tremendous career at Southern Guilford High School which brought multiple recruiters to the Greensboro area. By the early summer Gallaspy held many high-level offers. During the summer camp circuit Gallaspy and his family would take visits to Duke, NC State, Michigan, Michigan State, West Virginia and Vanderbilt.
At different points through June and July he was rumored to favor Duke, Vanderbilt and Michigan State. However, Gallaspy and his family were spotted at NC State's home opener decked out in State attire.
He would return a few weeks later for an OV during the home showdown with FSU where he would make his verbal pledge to the Pack.
Why NC State? “They run two styles of offense. They run a pro-style and then they run some spread so there is balance. The running backs come out of the backfield, do the Wildcat, and play in the slot. Watching them play, it was great how they used the backs so much in their system. That was big for me... seeing how they utilize all their backs.”
Picked NC State Over: Duke, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and others
Scouting Report: “Gallaspy is a tough runner that does a lot of damage between the tackles. He is not a dancer and doesn’t only attempt to outrun his opponents to the corner and take off up the sideline. Gallaspy is not the fastest RB out there but he has good enough speed to run away from would-be tacklers in the open field. Gallaspy is also a physical specimen that should be able to physically compete from day one at NC State.” – Pack Pride Scouting Report
