Recruiting Scene: For nearly three years Roseboro was believed to be ‘lay-up’ for the Wolfpack coaching staff as he had camped at State multiples times and made countless unofficial visits. However, as Roseboro finished up his junior year of high school all the ‘big boys’ of college football came knocking.
NC State continued to be in good shape with his recruitment until an April trip to Ann Arbor changed everything. Roseboro and his family made a 3-day unofficial visit in which time the Wolverines took a sizeable lead. Roseboro would follow-up with a second unofficial to Michigan in late July which all but sealed up his recruitment. A month later Roseboro would commit to Michigan at a ceremony at his school.
As always though, in football recruiting nothing was over until it was over and an August commitment left nearly 4-months between a verbal agreement and Roseboro’s early enrollment. Roseboro had reportedly been very close with his family which was firmly entrenched in North Carolina and that was the foot-in-the-door that NC State needed.
Proximity to home and the wilting job status of Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke led to a late September official visit for Roseboro and his family in Raleigh. The visit was scheduled around the Pack’s home contest against the defending national champion FSU Seminoles. It was ultimately a game State would lose but the Pack put on quite a show for recruits and fans alike. By the beginning of the following week Roseboro had decommitted from Michigan and the winds began to favor State.
Roseboro was back in Raleigh for their next home game on October 11th vs Boston College but before the ball was put in play Roseboro had decided to join the Pack. After playing in the Shrine Bowl and the Semper FI All-American game Roseboro enrolled at NC State for the spring semester to get an early start on his collegiate career.
Why NC State? “Well, first of all it was the coaching staff. I like them a lot. Then the degree, from an academic standpoint, I'm going to get a good education. "It was a good move for me and my family.”
Picked NC State Over: Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, Clemson and others
Scouting Report: “A versatile defensive lineman who can move around depending on the scheme. Growing into likely a defensive tackle. Plays with a good motor. Does a sound job playing his gap, doing his job. Can set the edge at end and be disruptive up the field. More of a power player that is very successful when playing with good pad level. Can play high and needs to improve his moves and explosion off the ball. Plays with good balance.” - Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons
