Recruiting Scene: McGirt's first offer was from NC State and despite coming from a family of Tar Heels he's always looked closely at the Wolfpack.
In the spring he gave a verbal commitment to North Carolina, but he opened back up his recruitment and narrowed his focus to NC State and Georgia before ultimately selecting the Wolfpack in November.
He is arguably the top offensive lineman in the state and could start as a true freshman for the Wolfpack.
Why NC State? “The coaches, you know they're my kind of people. I'm cool with all the players. I feel at home there. I feel comfortable. That's really what made me want to commit."
Picked NC State Over: Virginia Tech, UNC, FSU, UGA and others
Scouting Report: “Offensive tackle with many things you look for in a top of the line prospect. Very good bender, good flexibility, and gets in and out of his stance well. McGirt is good off the ball and can explode into defenders. He can improve his hand placement and his ability to stay on blocks.
“McGirt moves well in pass-pro and above average athleticism for a prospect at his position. Length is there as are feet. He can overextend and get off balance at times, and he needs to add bulk.”--Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons
