Only four other league schools had more student-athletes named to the list than NC State, and two of the Pack’s honorees earned their second nod.
Two starters from the offensive line, guards Tony Adams and Joe Thuney were honored, while cornerback Jack Tocho earned his second honor in as many years. Fullback Tyler Purvis, who earned a second undergraduate degree in September, was also a repeat honor winner.
To be eligible for consideration for the squad, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. A student-athlete in graduate school must maintain a 3.5 grade point average. The ACC has selected an All-ACC Academic Football team every year since 1954.
During head coach Dave Doeren’s two years with the Wolfpack, his student-athletes have earned 11 All-ACC academic nods.
