NC State junior tailback Matt Dayes answers six rapid-fire questions from Pack Pride.

*****

There are some new guys out at practice... how are they looking and the team so far?
They all stand out to me. They are coming in with the mindset that they are ready to play soon so they all look good from what I've seen.

With the new guys coming in we've looked pretty good. We can only get better from here on out.

Reggie Gallaspy has enrolled and is working out at tailback. What have you seen from him?
He's... first he has to understand the plays. Talent-wise, he's really good... really good.

He's going to be alright once he learns the plays.

What do you think of the depth now at tailback?
Depth-wise it's great. It saves us from injuries and just brings the best out of us competition-wise.

We'll be fine.

Where do you think NC State stands now at tailback in comparison with the rest of the country?
Even last year without the guys coming in, I still think we were the top top [group of] backs in the NCAA.

Do you think the indoor practice facility will have a big impact?
I definitely think so. With the indoor practice facility a lot more recruits will want to come here. It's definitely going to be good for us.

Is the excitement still here after how you played last season?
It's time to get back to work. We can't go off what we did last year with a new season coming up. We have to forget about last year and make a better year out of this year.
