How important is spring practice for you?
It's very important.
Last year I wasn't able to come in early, so I feel like this year it will give me a little more advantage going into next season. I can get more comfortable with the team, offense.
It is really helping me.
It sounds like you're being flexed out more. Has that been a focal point?
They are trying to flex me out more and trying me at every position. I'm just going to take it on. I'm going to watch as much film as I can.
I'm going to do whatever I can do to get on the field even more and make plays.
What was the hardest part of your freshman season... was it blocking?
Just learning the offense and getting used to the speed of the game. It was a little faster. It comes over time. That was probably the hardest.
My blocking is better. Working with coach Faulkner, we've worked on a lot of technique drills. So, I'm getting better at blocking... when I don't have the ball, that's what I need to work on.
What was the most exciting aspect of the season for you?
It has to be playing in the Florida State game. Just being in a game that little kids dream of. That was the most exciting game for me.
Was it an adjustment for how you were used in high school or was it similar?
It was similar. When the coaches were recruiting me they told me that they were going to have me doing the same things I did in high school. So, it wasn't that big of an adjustment.
How do you feel about this upcoming season?
Coming off a good season like we did, I think the confidence is going to be higher. I think coming into next year, we're going to turn things around and be even better.
