"I was disappointed in some of the protection issues that I saw. The defense blitzed a lot, and we didn't handle it well. In the second half we did a better job."

"You can line [Dayes and Samuels] up all over the field. Grinnage is the same way. Jaylen can play so many positions. He could play tailback if we put him back there."

"Matt Dayes is a versatile guy and Shad is a good downhill runner."

"We know what we have with some of those guys so we're trying to do some things with some other guys."

"We threw the ball to Shad in the flat and he got 15 yards. You kind of know what you have."

"Defensively if youw ere trying to scheme us you'd see a different approach. Offensively we were just calling plays there for a while."

"It's going to be a lot of learning for [McClendon] on the film. I don't think he operated it very well. He can throw the ball, h has a tremendous arm and really good command of the guys in there. But, he has to move faster. There were plenty of plays where we were barely getting the ball off. He has to understand the playclock and the dynamics of that. It will be a really good learning experience for him."

"[Roseboro] was thinking a lot early on and he didn't look real quick-twitch. As the spring's gone on you've started to see his God-given ability. For a big man he's very quick-twitched. I'm not going to say he's the furthest along of any kid I've ever coached, but he's a very mature freshman. The big thing for him will be conditioning. Spending the summer, now that he knows the pace of college football, where he can play a number of plays in a row and not have fatigue."

"Darian showed up. I thought he did some nice things. He was productive. Reggie had a good day. I didn't see a lot from the other guys but I wasn't watching specifically either."
