NC State didn't take a tight end in 2015 so the position has had added significance for the class of 2016. The Pack hopes to take two during this recruiting cycle and they met half of that goal on Thursday evening when Dallas (GA) North Paulding's Dylan Autenrieth committed to the Wolfpack.
He talked with Pack Pride shortly after informing the NC State coaching staff of his decision.
"I've been talking to coach Faulkner for a while. Lately, for thelast month, I've been talking to coach Canada and you know when you're talking to the OC all the time that they have a plan for you and they really want you. And when I went up for the visit the coaches were awesome. There were no bad vibes from anybody. It was basically a no-brainer."
Autenrieth held double digit offers including Pittsburgh, Marshall, Southern Miss and others.
As a junior he tallied 32 catches for 470 yards and seven touchdowns. He is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 55 tight end in the nation by Scout.com. He will enroll at NC State in January.
