NC State is a spot away from wrapping up their offensive line recruiting for the class of 2016 which means the lion's share of their focus has already shifted to next year.
One player they're extremely high on is rising junior Blake Vinson from North Marion High School in Citra (FL). He's quickly emerged as one of the nation's most sought-after linemen and has compiled an impressive list of offers. Vinson told Pack Pride recently that the offers seemingly happened overnight and caught him off guard.
"I've received offers (recently) from West Virginia, Alabama, Florida, Clemson, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miami, Auburn. It's all happened this spring so it hit me by surprise. It's still kind of hard to believe."
The 6-5, 285 pounder had a chance to check out NC State during a summer tour of colleges and he came away impressed- with the facilities being a huge selling point for the Wolfpack.
"The coaches are nice and the facilties are outstanding here. The stadium is beautiful and this indoor facility is nice. Everything here was great."
State isn't the only school Vinson has visited as he's also taken trips to UNC, Duke, Alabama, Florida, Clemson and South Carolina.
So, has anyone stood out?
"Yea, NC State with their facilities but all of the schools have been unique in their own way."
Already rated a four-star prospect for the class of 2017, Vinson hopes to make a decision on his future college within the next 12 months and he knows what he'll be looking for.
"Mainly for me I want a place where I can feel comfortable around the people. So, with the personel group I'm hoping to be able to play early.
"The goal for me is to try to commit somewhere around the spring of my junior year so that's about a year away."
