Winston Salem (NC) Mt Tabor's Divine Deablo is one of the state's premier wide receivers and a standout at last weekend's invite-only combine held at Randleman High School.
At 6-3, 190 pounds Deablo used his size and quickness to gain seperation while displaying reliable hands. It all underscored his status as one of the more sought-after players in the state. Deablo told Pack Pride that the combine was a good experience to help him improve as he's worked hard during the off season in preparation for the upcoming year.
"It felt good for telling me where I'm at and what I need to work on. The talent level that I was going against was very high. I didn't know there were athletes like that in North Carolina. I've been growing so I've been trying to stay low on my route running and just working on my speed."
On the recruiting side, Deablo has narrowed his list down to just four and he gave a brief comment about what he likes with each school.
"My top four right now in no order is North Carolina, Virginia Tech, NC State and Georgia.
With Carolina and Virginia Tech it's just the interest they've got in me. NC State is what they've got going on there. They're really growing as a program. Then Georgia has always been a great program and the offense they run will help prepare me for the next level."
Deablo plans to be in Raleigh this Friday and then potentially make a tripback for an official visit in a couple of months. He knows a decision isn't too far away.
"I plan on making my decision sometime after I take four official visits so probably early in the season because I plan to graduate early."
