PC: NC State's Bradley Chubb, Joe Thuney Meet The Media

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State's Bradley Chubb and Joe Thuney met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against Virginia Tech.

"We're real proud of that.  Coach Hux always preaches to us that we want to be one of the top defenses in the nation."

"We're going to keep pushing and keep working to try and stay in that top spot."

"We execute in practice everyday and work everyday to accomplish that goal."

"With Coach Nielsen we work on different drills for zone read and eye control... the past couple of weeks, just keying in on that eye control opponent and continuing to get better on that."

"No matter what quarterback we play we always want to put pressure on him. That's a big thing in the d-line room. We want to attack the quarterback, no matter who he is, young or old."

"Getting off to a good start is definitely a good thing for the defense."

"The word of the week is focus so I'm going to continue to focus on the gameplan coach puts in and everything I need to do."

"I know everybody else on the defense and everybody on the offense is going to do the same thing."

"We made plays. We did a lot of good things in the second half. We were physical."

"That second half was big for us because we just... I feel like it showed how the defense has bonded."

"It would be real big, but we have to focus on getting that fifth win. We can't look forward to the other games."

Joe Thuney PC

"It was pretty disappointing."

"I take the responsibility, but that game is behind us now and we're focused a lot on Friday in Blacksburg against Virginia Tech."

"The ball has been run on them, but they are a very good defense. They are very stout so once again it comes down to the offensive line being physical."

"It was tough being the first loss of the year but I think it was out of our system by the time I woke up this morning.  Sunday you watch the film and you evaluate how you did."

"I woke up this morning eager to get this taste out of our mouth."

"I think just the execution... we had a really good week of practice preparing but it all comes down to how you play on Saturday."

"We left a lot of blocks out there on the field."

"I don't know how it could get much louder than that."

"We worked a lot on our silent counts and Jacoby is really good at communicating."

"You never know who is going to play in what game, so the next man up is big."

"It's really surprised so I've taken snaps with Tyler, Bryce and Alex all in the preseason and I think that helps a lot, but it's nice to have that one unit."

'We take pride in that we shouldn't lose a step when the next guy comes up."
