Doeren: Pack Focused On What They Can Control

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Dave Doeren met with the media after Thursday's practice.

"A bye week is a long time, a real long time. It's a real long time when you add a day to it coming off a loss."

"I think everybody is excited to play another game."

"Absolutely... anytime you've done something you go back to that experience and realize what you have to do."

"I get here before the traffic and leave after, but you don't run errands during the day, I'll tell you that.  It is what it is."

"It's nice, every night at 10 I get an alarm clock here... the fireworks tell you it's time to go home."

"I hope so. Obviously we'd love to have our fans with us, but I don't control that.  We'll try to worry about what we have to do."

"If it's quiet, it's quiet.  If it's loud, it's loud... we don't control those things, but we'd love to have as many fans that can make the trip."

"Anytime you're on the road, but particularly an in-state game like this you want to play well on the road."

"You look at the history of the program, the good things, the bad things... everything we do we try to make better."

"This is one of those chances to do something that hasn't been done in a while here."
