RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State sophomore tight end Jaylen Samuels met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against Clemson.

"Last year's game when we played them, it was very bad.  The offense didn't get the ball moving early.  The score was terrible... 41-0."

"We're just going to take that as motivation coming into this game... we'll prepare ourselves this week, watch film on them, give it our best... just go out there and play."

"When I was getting recruited that was the year when they called the score back with Bryan Underwood.  They had that game... the crowd is behind us.  It's going to be a good atmosphere. I'm just looking forward to it."

"I expect their best shot.  They are a pretty good football team. They are coming off a good win against Miami, and we're coming off a team-victory as well against Wake.  I'm expecting their best shot because they are trying to win a national championship too.  No. 2 team coming to our place.  It's going to be fun."

"I feel like we need to come out like we did last week. We need to jump on them early because they are going to score points, they are going to make plays.  They are a good football team. We just need to come out and execute, make plays when they need to be made, convert on third downs, and be efficient in the redzone."

"I feel like I am.  A lot of defenses are keying on the jet sweeps, but we can feed off that do something different.  Hopefully other plays will come and work."

"We jumped on Florida State early... in big games like that you have to come out fast.  You can't be waiting around because that's a good team.  They are going to score points. We have to come out fast, execute, and make plays."

"Matt Dayes is a great player.  Last game he had 16 carries for 200-something yards. With him in the backfield it's very dangerous for defenses to gameplan on.  If we're running jets they have to be worried about the jet or us giving the ball to Matt Dayes.  With him on the offense it's huge."

"It would be awesome... just knocking off the No. 2 team in the country... at our homefield. That would be really good.  It would change things around for our program and look at us differently. I  feel like we should get this win."
