Jaylen Samuels had a 5-yard TD run and Reggie Gallaspy II ran 35 for a score for the Wolfpack (6-3, 2/3 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Walk-on quarterback John Fadule made his first career start for the Eagles (3-7, 0-7). He was 23-for-37 for 257 yards with a TD in the closing 90 seconds. He also had three interceptions, a fumble and was sacked seven times.
It was N.C. State's first game after leading rusher Matt Dayes was lost for the season with a foot injury in a 56-41 loss at No. 3 Clemson. The Wolfpack gained 139 yards on the ground against BC's top-ranked rush defense.
Brissett completed 14 of 27 for 212 yards with one interception.
Dayes was 25th in the country, averaging 108.1 yards per game, and led the ACC with 12 rushing TDs.
The Wolfpack led 14-0 at halftime.
N.C. State jumped ahead 7-0 when Brissett hit a wide-open Trowell in stride down the right sideline for the TD on the Wolfpack's first play of the second quarter.
On their next drive, they marched 84 yards. Samuels' 5-yard TD run made it 14-0.
The Eagles, who entered with one of the nation's worst offenses, moved into N.C. State territory for just four plays in two separate drives during the opening half. A penalty for a chop block ended one threat and Fadule was sacked on the other.
BC, coming in ranked 126th in the nation offensively, collected just six first downs and only gained 129 yards in the first half. The Eagles finished with 285 total yards, averting the shutout when Fadule hit Thadd Smith for a 3-yard TD.
Gallaspy II burst through the middle untouched for his TD, making it 21-0 early in the third quarter.
The Eagles did drive to N.C. State's 22 before failing on a fourth-down try late in the third.
N.C. State had moved to BC's 23 midway into the opening quarter, but opted to skip attempting a field due to kicking difficulties by Kyle Bambard, who was only 3-of-9 this season. Brissett was picked off by Justin Simmons at the 10-yard line on a 4th-and-2 play, just the second interception he's thrown this season.
Bambard kicked a 37-yarder with 4 minutes left in the game.
The Wolfpack are at No. 17 Florida State next week. Boston College is off before facing No. 8 Notre Dame at Fenway Park -- in a home game for the Fighting Irish -- on November 21.
