Visit to Raleigh On Tap

Columbia (MO) defensive back Bryce Banks was recently offered by NC State and he's looking forward to his trip to Raleigh.

Bryce Banks doesn't know where he wants to go to college yet but he might be ready to make a decision soon. Banks will take official visits to two schools that have offered and then he should be ready to make a decision. That could happen as early as next month.

Banks (6-3, 190) learned that he had an offer from NC State in just the past few days. By the time NC State had offered Banks knew the coaches were thinking about him and talking about him together as a staff. He did not see the offer coming and it had not been long before that when he was surprised to learn they were even interested.

He was in school at Rock Bridge during his normal class schedule when one of his coaches let him know that NC State was ready to make a move.

"Right as I heard that I got a message from the corners coach at NC State and he said he wanted me to call him. He said he was going to talk to me later on that night. I talked to him on the phone for about 20 minutes and thought he was a real great guy. I liked Coach Barlow a lot. He's a big technique guy. He seems like he knows what he's doing and he seems like he and the other coaches have a great program going. He said they were going to check into everything regarding me and then probably offer me when my transcripts came in. That very next day I heard from Coach D the head coach. And he offered me."

Dave Doeren said many of the same things that Barlow had said before. Hearing it from the head coach meant a lot to Banks. Before he knew that Barlow was happy with learning about him as a player. When Doeren said it Banks knew for sure that the entire staff shared the opinion.

"I know Coach D recruited Paris Logan who's a very, very close friend of mine. Basically like a brother. Paris said he liked him a lot and was a very good coach. They just told me that they're winning and that the school is a very good program. He said they're in a nice area in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"The area's supposed to be real nice and surrounded by a lot of other campuses. Social wise there's a lot of things to do. He said they really like my film up there and he could see me playing up there pretty early."

Banks was so impressed with what the coaches said and so excited about their interest that he quickly set up an official visit for this weekend.

Banks said he is not planning to commit when he is visiting NC State because he has another official visit scheduled for December 4th. He will be at Illinois during that time and the Illini have offered too.

"If I like one of them a lot then I could possibly plan on committing relatively soon like sometime in December."
