LOCKER ROOM REPORT: Wolfpack Players

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Several NC State players met with the media after the win over Syracuse.

"[On scoring his first career touchdown]: It was pretty exciting. A little scary but after I made the catch I realized it was going to be alright."

"Me and Pharoah [McKever, who returned an interception for a touchdown against Syracuse last season] were talking about it. He said, 'You can put your game ball beside mine.'"

"It is really big to us for the improvement. You can tell we are improving….everybody is doing their job."

"Every game, we never look ahead. You lose games like that. Wwe take it one game at a time."

"[On jumping out to a 21-3 lead] Their offense--they have a good offense--but it hard for any offense to come back from 21-3 so we just tried to make sure we came out to make sure we did what we needed to do to win."

"We have a lot of guys. Some guys are on and some guys are off...Jacoby is good at finding people. If we are open, he will find us."

"This is what I envisioned when I picked the school, I know a lot of people didn’t see why I came here but this is the reason why. When I touch the ball I have to make plays."

"The coaches have faith in me and they are putting me in places to make people miss in space so I am really happy with my role."

"As you could tell, the line was blocking hard for me so  I just run through the holes."

"[On contributions from freshmen in the win] It was fun. We all room together actually at the College Inn. To be able to have a good conservation after the game knowing that we scored, we are encouraging each other."

"[On his and Dakwa Nichols’ performance] The running back group, we always practice like that. We never knew what was going to happen but we know things happen--especially watching Ohio State the year before when they were down to the third-string quarterback. Me and Dakwa looked at each other and we knew we had to step up. We try to push each other."
