Cat Barber Named ACC Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - After three standout performances last week, NC State's Cat Barber was voted ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the first time Barber has earned the league's weekly honor.

After three standout performances last week, NC State's Cat Barber was voted ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the first time Barber has earned the league's weekly honor.

Barber averaged 26.3 points, 7.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds in three games last week, leading the Pack to a pair of victories. After leading NC State to a split in Brooklyn, Barber exploded for a career-high 37 points in a win over Winthrop on Friday night. He finished the night 19-for-22 at the free throw line and also added eight assists. 

In two games in Brooklyn last week, the 6-2 junior point guard averaged 21.0 points, 7.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds.  

Barber currently leads the country in both free throws made (66) and attempted (75). He also leads the ACC in minutes played per game (39.2). 

Barber and the Wolfpack host Michigan Tuesday, Dec. 1 at PNC Arena in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tuesday's game will be on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
