Rock Hill (SC) South Pointe DB Nick McCloud has made three visits to NC State over the last couple of months. The latest of which was an official visit to Raleigh last weekend. Pack Pride caught up with the three-star cornerback for the latest.
Holding better than a dozen offers from the likes of NC State, West Virginia, Vanderbilt and Northwestern among others, McCloud has begun the process of narrowing down his list. One of the programs front and center for his commitment is the Wolfpack.
"This was actually my third time going to NC State so I actually already knew a lot about them. The visit went really good and I had a good time. I enjoyed myself with the other recruits."
Although he has become familiar with what the Pack has to offer, McCloud said the benefit to this trip was having an opportunity to spend more time around the current team.
"I think the big thing for me was being able to hang around the current players a lot more than I did the two times before. I guess I got a little taste of what life would be like at NC State."
The Pack already has a presence on the team from the state of South Carolina and that played a role in his visit as well.
"One of my best friends is from South Carolina and he's already committed to State- James Valdez. I hung out with Freddie Phillips for a little bit."
McCloud may make one more visit and then a decision should come in the next couple of weeks.
"I'm planning on trying to go see Vandebilt but I'm trying to make a decision. I'm probably going to make my decision on Dec 15. I'll be announcing at my school."
So where does the Pack stand?
"Well, of course NC State is at the top of my list. Vanderbilt, West Virginia and App State are in there as well."
