Thuney: "We Respect Everyone"

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State senior tackle Joe Thuney met with the media to discuss the upcoming bowl game against Mississippi State.

"It's in Charlotte... will be great.  My family is coming down."

"It definitely is. The SEC is a very strong conference and as players we don't control the schedule... we go and play.  It's going to be a great challenge. We'll come out and play and if we prepare well we can make it an interesting and fun game."

"I don't think it's anything extra. We look at each team as they are. Clemson is No. 1 in the rankings right now and they are from the ACC."

"We respect everyone. They are in a great conference, but it's not like we'll take that as inspiration for preparation."

"Because it's a bowl game there will be some extra juice."

"We want to send us off with a 'W' for this last one."

"I feel a lot better. The coaches and strength staff have done a great job of balancing keeping your shape and form. I feel great and ready to go practice again."

"Shocked.  My dad called me for the USA Today one and I was totally blown away... honored obviously, very humble.  I think it's a team award, it speaks for the offense as a whole and not just me or the offensive line. I was humble and thankful."

"I think our program is going in the right direction... with the All-ACC lists and our recruiting is getting a lot better."

"As a senior there's not a lot of time left here and you don't want to take things for granted.  You realize how special this place is.  The longer the break the better for me... I get more time around the guys."

"We were really excited. I heard a lot going into the game that we had to win to go to Charlotte so we were in the dark after the game, had no clue.  A lot of the guys are excited. It's great for our fanbase and a lot of the guys' families on the team."

"Their front seven is big and they are physical. They plug holes on the ground."

"We feel confident we can run the ball on any team we play. It all comes down to preparation and execution."
