Gottfried: "That's A Nice Win"

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Mark Gottfried met with the media after the win over Northeastern.

"I liked a lot of things about tonight for our team. I think we beat a good basketball team.  Northeastern is proven with last year what they did... veteran players, good players.  That's a nice win for our group."

"We missed a lot of easy shots right around the rim."

"I thought our guys showed poise... settled down in the second half and really got some good looks."

"I thought Cat was terrific again.  You look down and he has 29 points and it's almost not a big deal anymore, but it is a big deal."

"Overall it ends up being a good night."

"I think Cat right now is playing as well as any guard in the country. I really do."

"They really trapped him, stayed with him, almost had two guys guarding him, and he still finds a way to impact the game in a positive way."

"When you have a ballhandler that's a great foul shooter... two hands immediate foul, Cat has found a way to get to the foul line a lot this year."

"They become really hard to guard because you can foul so easily."

"Cat has improved every part of his game."

"I say that knowing other teams have really good guards too."

"I don't know that Cat needs to get 29 points every night.  That's too much to ask of anybody."

"Maverick stepped up and made some shots.  Caleb made some shots."

"We're 10-3 and we've lost a really important player with Terry Henderson."

"It's hard to tell with Terry.  He's nowhere near being ready to practice or play... he barely walks without crutches today.  We'll see.  It's a day-to-day thing, week-to-week.  I don't know if I have a good idea of when he'll be ready to play. We just have to wait and see."
