Gottfried: "We Have To Be Ready To Play"

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Mark Gottfried met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against Louisville.

"They've got some good players, and we have to be ready to play."

"I watched both games from last year... there were a couple of things in each game. They are a little different. Their personnel is a little different without Harrell, Rozier, and that group."

"Rick did a good job of taking advantage of recruiting fifth-year seniors and guys that can step in... high-level guys."

"They'll zone us.  There's not a lot of secrets anymore. We just have to make sure we're ready to play."

"We feel like we let one get away the other day. There's no doubt about that.  That's on us."

"Every game will be a night where either team can win. We need to make sure we're ready to play against a good Louisville team."

"It is a rule right now that you can take advantage of."

"I don't really worry so much about Cat. If you play 40 minutes, 37 minutes, or 35 minutes, I'm not sure there's a huge difference."

"If he went from 40 minutes to 26, that would be big, but I don't plan on playing him 26 minutes.  He's going to play more than that."

"We may find some time to rest Cat, but he's also the kind of guy that can play a lot of minutes."

"I just think for our team... we've had different guys play well on different nights."

"Caleb and Maverick need to be a little more consistent."

"My message is to learn, grow, get better, and improve... those kind of things."

"That's the nature of the league this year... I watched Clemson go on the road at Syracuse and get a great win. I think our league is going to be great."

"I think [Terry] is a ways away... we'll see week-by-week where he is."
