Barber Honored By The ACC

For the third time this season, Anthony Barber has been voted the ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The ACC's leading scorer at 23.1 points per game, Barber averaged 33.0 points and 4.5 assists as the Pack split a pair of games last week.

The 6-2 junior point guard scored 36 points on 13-for-27 shooting and made all eight of his free throws last Wednesday vs. Georgia Tech.Three days laterhe scored 30 points to lead the Wolfpack to an 85-69 win over No. 15/13 Miami. Barber shot 10-for-18 and made all 10 of his foul shots in the win over the Hurricanes.

The two performances gave Barber an ACC-high five outings with 30 or more points this season. He currently averages 23.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists and would become the first ACC player since Kenny Anderson to reach those marks for a season. Since 1994, only four players in college basketball have reached those averages. 

For the season, Barber leads the ACC in scoring, free throws made and minutes played while ranking fourth in both assists and free throw percentage. His scoring average is good for eighth in the nation.

Barber and the Wolfpack will play Florida State Monday night at 9 p.m. on ESPNU before traveling to Duke Saturday, Feb. 6.
