Recruiting Scene: Dixon accepted an early offer from ODU as a WR.  However, he continued to gain weight going into the summer before his senior year.  In early June 2015 Dixon attended a camp session at NC State where TEs coach Eddie Faulkner had a chance to work him at TE.  The Wolfpack followed up with an offer shortly thereafter.  In late June Dixon committed to the Pack and remained firm despite late offers from Miami, Tennessee and others.  Dixon was one of the Pack’s seven early enrollees and will participate in winter conditioning and spring practice.

Why NC State? "I loved it at NC State, State has always been one of my favorite schools. It felt right being there, and I was comfortable. I also really connected with my position coach. Coach Faulkner, the tight ends coach, was really nice and he's personable. He connects with the players. I like how he pushes you. He's not too hard on you, but he gets his point across."

Picked NC State Over: Old Dominion, Miami, Tennessee and Boston College

Scouting Report: "Dixon is a big, physical receiver, who could eventually grow into a tight end in college. He is a very polished route-runner and does a nice job of finding open spots in defenses. Dixon also shows good concentration and catches the ball very well."- Scout.com Regional Recruiting Analyst Michael Clark
