Kollin Byers
Scout Ranking: ***
Scout Rank: No. 76 Offensive Tackle
Size: 6-4 250 Pounds
Hometown: Shelby (NC)
School: Crest High School

Projected Position At NC State: Offensive Line

Accolades: Byers helped lead Shelby Crest to back-to-back State Championships in 2014 and 2015 and was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas in Spartanburg SC.

Commit Date: July 24, 2015

Recruiting Scene: As an undersized offensive line prospect, Byers flew somewhat under the radar for the early part of the spring and summer of 2015.  He collected offers from the likes of App St., Campbell and UNC-Charlotte (where he committed) before arriving at NC State’s elite summer camp, the ‘Alpha Wolf Showcase’.  Prior to the start of the camp Byers received an offer and immediately accepted before going on to workout with the other 4 offensive line commits and then OL Coach Mike Uremovich.

Why NC State? "This has been my dream school ever since I was little," Byers told Pack Pride. "I always came to games and watched. They offered me so I just went ahead and took it. They had been recruiting me for about three or four months. My family was real happy for me because they're all die hard State fans."

Picked NC State Over: UNC-Charlotte and App St.

Scouting Report: “On film Byers displays solid fundamentals in both the run and pass game.  Byers’ strength is getting out of his stance and pulling up field during run plays.  Byers has the height and frame you want but will need to add significant weight before he’s able to be a factor at the collegiate level.”- Pack Price Recruiting Analyst Bryant Carson
