Maryland Receiver Checks Out NC State

Oxon Hill (MD) wide receiver Daniel George recently visited NC State, and he talks about the trip with Pack Pride

Oxon Hill, Maryland is where you can find Daniel George. He's one of the wide receivers standing out to the NC State coaches from the graduating class of 2017.

Although NC State has not offered George the coaches have made him feel like an offer could be coming. Most of the talk between George and the State staff has gone through the coaches at Oxon Hill.

"They spoke a little bit with my coach and my coach told me he decided to take a trip down there," George said.

He doesn't regret going. George said he was at State for a scrimmage this spring and he was with his mom and dad. George said he enjoyed the visit and the chance to watch the players go through spring preparations. Most of all George was happy to watch the interactions between coaches and players.

"The practice was fast paced and the coaches showed they really cared about their players."

The only downside of the visit was that George did not have much time to talk to the coaches himself. But he said he understood the reason for that because of everything that was happening that day. He talk to Dave Doeren and George Barlow. Barlow is his recruiter. He has not visited Oxon Hill High School recently but could in the future.

When George was having the chance to walk around and see more of NC State he said a couple of things stood out.

"I just saw the weight room and the field. They were both really nice. The weight room was really good. It looks like they can get some work done in the weight room. There's a lot of stuff you could use there."

Since the University of Maryland is so close George has been able to visit there easily this spring. He also visited Temple.

George (6-2, 195) has ACC offers from Boston College, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Virginia Tech but not NC State yet. Big Ten schools Maryland and Iowa have offered.
