Shelby (NC) Crest linebacker Justin Foster is one of North Carolina's most heavily recruited prospects for the class of 2017- boasting offers from Tennessee, Notre Dame, Alabama, NC State, UNC, South Carolina, Michigan and Stanford among others.
Foster recently checked in at 6-4, 258 pounds and while most schools still consider him a linebacker prospect, some are starting to talk to him about a move to the defensive line.
NC State had an opportunity to host Foster on a recent visit and it gave the rising senior a better look at exactly what State has to offer both on and off the field.
"On that visit we saw the Engineering stuff, Foster told Pack Pride. "We got some one on one time with the coaches and it furthered the chances with NC State so it went good. I met with the head coach and talked with him and the assistant coaches a little bit just to hear where I'd fit in. I usually talk to coach Doeren and coach Huxtable the most."
The Pack also has a former Crest standout who'll be joining State in a month or so and he's been talking up the Wolfpack to Foster whenever he has a chance.
"Kollin (Byers) used to stay in my ear a lot but once I started picking up a lot more offers he just mentions it every once in a while now."
With so many offers on the table, who does Foster plan on giving a look over the summer?
"I've been looking at Clemson, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia- really just checking a lot of schools out before I narrow it down. I'm planning to go see a bunch of schools."
Foster listed Clemson, Tennessee, Kentucky and Stanford as his top four schools currently.
