Chambers High on the Wolfpack

Miami (FL) Edison Wide Receiver Jackie Chambers feels that he's going to have a huge senior season.

"Yea, I think I'm going to have a big year," Chambers told StateFans. "This year I'm going to play a couple of positions but in college I'll be a Wide Receiver. That's where the colleges are recruiting me."

Last season at Edison, Jackie finished the year with 26 receptions for 651 yards (25 YPC) and three touchdowns. The big-play wideout expects his numbers to go up as his role expands with the Red Raiders.

"The coaches say they are going to use me more and I like that. I worked hard this summer in the weightroom, and it's going to pay off for me."

Edison Assistant Coach Eddie Jackson has noticed the improvement's Chambers made over the summer and he feels the staff will definitely be able to use him in a variety of ways.

"Jackie Chalmers is the energizer bunny, that's what we call him because he keeps going and going," Coach Jackson said. "He worked out with the track team this spring and is a little faster now and he put in a lot of work in the weight room this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing how much better he is because I think we can use him in a lot of ways this year. He's a good kid too."

As of now, several colleges are showing heavy interest in Chambers.

"I like N.C. State, Maryland, Mississippi State, Wyoming, Rutgers, and South Florida. Those are the schools showing the most interest in me and some have even offered me full scholarships. Miami's my favorite school, but they are not really recruiting me."

As for the Wolfpack, Jackie likes them alot and if they chose to offer, they could be his early favorite.

"N.C. State? Oh they are straight! I like their style of play and their passing schemes. They are a good team and I saw them beat Florida State last year. They haven't offered me a full scholarship yet, but I hope they do."

Look for Chambers to decide late in the year and a huge senior season could provide him with even more collegiate options!
