NC State is in the market to add a running back in the class of 2017 and while he doesn’t have an offer from the Wolfpack, Garner (NC) tailback Collin Eaddy is a player that the Pack is especially interested in.
Measured at 5-11, 202 pounds and boasting a recent 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds, Eaddy has landed offers from Virginia, East Carolina, Army, Navy and Air Force as well as numerous FCS schools.
NC State hasn’t offered but a good performance at the Wolfpack’s camp in June could certainly accomplish that. The Pack has had steady contact with Eaddy and have told him that an offer is certainly possible.
“Me and coach Kitchings, we communicate pretty often,” said Eaddy. “I guess the last time I saw him was about a month ago when he came by the school to see me and Matthew Butler. He told me how he wants me to come to camp and get in front of coach Doeren. Coach Drinkwitz wants to see me run and go through all the drills. He said hopefully I’ll get some good news by the end.”
Eaddy talked about why he considers State to be an attractive program.
“It’s good with it being so close to home and I know so many people there. I played with Nyheim (Hines) two years ago and I talked to him about two days ago and he’s been telling me some great things about State. I am really interested in NC State and I’ll be at their camp on June 17 so hopefully I’ll come away with an offer.”
In addition to State, Eaddy plans to camp at East Carolina and possibly Elon and Air Force.
So when could Eaddy arrive at a decision?
“I’m not into offers and numbers and all that so when a place comes along that feels like home and I could see myself fitting in then I could commit.”
Eaddy added that he has yet to narrow the schools he’s considering and doesn’t have a favorite’s list just yet.
As a junior he rushed for better than 1,700 yards while helping Garner to a 9-3 record.
