NC State could have potentially as many as nine scholarships available for the 2017 recruiting class so the Wolfpack is pursuing a large group of prospects, and several targets are on Scout.com's updated list of top 100 prospects, which was released today.
The Wolfpack is currently hosting point guard @Markell Johnson who is still being listed as a 2016 recruit by the network.
In the 2017 class, point guard remains a priority, and targets Trevon Duval (No.4), Nick Weatherspoon (No. 34), Chris Lykes (No. 93), and Matt Coleman (No. 44) made Scout's Top 100 list. Other point guard targets, such as R.J. Nembhard and Lavar Batts are listed as four-star recruits.
On the wing, NC State is in really good shape with Charles O'Bannon Jr., the nation's No. 49 recruit per Scout.com. Other wing targets ranked include: Kyle Young (No. 78), Galen Alexander (No. 67), Justin Smith (No. 76), Bryan Bowen (No. 17), and Josh Anderson (No. 39).
The Wolfpack will be working to add depth in the frontcourt, and although target Xavier Tillman didn't make the cut, several other prospects with scholarship offers did make the list, including: Nate Watson (No. 58), Nick Richards (No. 30), Malik Williams (No. 31), Derek Culver (No. 40), P.J. Washington (No. 14), Jarred Vanderbilt (No. 13), and Zach Brown (No. 100).
NC State remains in evaluation mode with so many scholarships available, and prospects are expected to earn those firm offers during the course of the summer.
