Lake Marion (SC) safety Davondre Robinson recently narrowed his favorite’s list down to ten and NC State found themselves listed along with a bevy of the nation’s top programs.
Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Mississippi State, NC State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech comprised Robinson’s list of top schools and the Pack was able to host him recently on an unofficial visit.
Robinson made a trip out to NC State’s football camp as an observer and spent most of that time hanging out with current Wolfpacker’s Freddie Phillips and James Valdez. He talked with Pack Pride about the trip.
“I know a lot of people up here at State so these are like my boys up here. I know a lot of the guys on the team and I’m getting to know the coaches better. James (Valdez) is my cousin and he’s always telling me about State and how he wants me to come up here and play with him.
“Coach Kitchings is recruiting me hard and he’s been telling me a lot about it. He’s let me know they need a safety that’s going to come in and compete for a job. NC State is definitely in the mix.”
Robinson (5-11, 190 pounds) is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 21 safety in the nation by Scout.com. In particular he mentioned Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee and Virginia Tech as four of the schools that he has heavy interest in.
However, for now Robinson is content to take recruiting slowly and isn’t sure when he’ll make a final decision.
“I plan to take my official visits so I don’t really have a time frame yet.”
