Grant Nearing a Decision?

New York City Small Forward Gavin Grant could be closing in on a decision.

According to St. Raymond's (N.Y.) high school coach Oliver Antigua, Gavin Grant has basically narrowed the playing field to two.

The two finalists, which are really no surprise, are N.C. State and Pittsburgh.

Grant had previously mentioned a length list of schools which included Kentucky, UConn, Louisville, Iowa State, Syracuse, Villanova and Georgetown. However, some of them haven't pursued the 6-7, 200-pound senior recently – and others have been crossed off Grant's list.

Grant is a versatile, athletic and hard-nosed player who didn't play to his potential throughout the summer – but remains an attractive option for the Wolfpack.

Antigua said that Grant still plans on taking an official visit to N.C. State in the fall before making a final decision. He has already visited Pittsburgh.

Grant hails from the same school that produced Julius Hodge, which could have an impact in his final decision. However, Pittsburgh has been recruiting Grant for a while.

While Grant has apparently settled on two finalists, there is a slight chance that Georgia Tech and Florida State could get involved.
