NC State landed a big commitment today from Waxhaw (NC) Marvin Ridge standout wide receiver Emeka Emezie, who committed to the Wolfpack coaching staff while on campus for an unofficial visit.
"I think it's the best fit for me," said Emezie. "NC State is a good school with a great Engineering program, and I have a good connection with the coaches."
As a junior, Emezie had 69 catches for 1,101 and 11 touchdowns after totaling 57 receptions for 1,014 yards and nine touchdowns during his sophomore season.
At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Emezie has terrific size for the wide receiver position and can stretch the field vertically.
"Emezie is a big target and a very good route-runner," says Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Michael Clark. "He is able to create space from the defender and has tremendous body control. Emezie shows good hands and good concentration. He can make the tough catch for the first down, but is especially dangerous downfield.
"Emezie must continue to get stronger and become a better blocker, but he has all the tools to develop into a major playmaker at the collegiate level."
Emezie is rated the No. 105 wide receiver and a three-star prospect by Scout.com. He also held offers from Wake Forest, Miami, Boston College, Kentucky, and West Virginia among others.
Pack Pride will have more on his decision in the near future so stay tuned!
