NC State currently has ten scholarships filled for the 2016-2017 season after Markell Johnson signed this week.  Here is a closer look at the Wolfpack's projected roster and depth chart.

2016-2017 Projected NC State Scholarship Roster

Here is an updated roster of the scholarship players following the Markell Johnson signing.

Terry Henderson SG/SF R-Sr. West Virginia (Raleigh, N.C.) 6-5/195
A very good perimeter shooter, Henderson is expected to play major minutes at shooting guard after missing virtually all of his junior year.
BeeJay Anya C Sr. DeMatha Cath. (Hyattsville, MD) 6-9/285
The ACC's top shotblocker, BeeJay Anya has declared for the draft, but he is expected to withdraw prior to the deadline. He needs to step up his game on both ends of the floor as a senior.
Lennard Freeman F Sr. Oak Hill (Washington D.C.) 6-9/250
A rugged forward, Freeman does all the dirty work for the Wolfpack. The hope is he can recover from his lingering leg injury, but he could redshirt this season.
Abdul-Malik Abu PF Jr. Union Academy (Kimball, N.H.) 6-8/240
Abu emerged as a sophomore, averaging nearly 14 points and nine rebounds on 51% shooting from the field during ACC play.  He has declared for the NBA draft but is expected to return to school.
Torin Dorn G R-Soph. Charlotte (Charlotte, N.C.) 6-6/205
Dorn led Charlotte in scoring as a true freshman and transferred to NC State after the 2014 season. He sat out last year due to NCAA rules and turned heads with his play in practice.  He's expected to be a major contributor.
Maverick Rowan G/F Soph. Cardinal Gibbons (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) 6-7/215
A prolific scorer, Rowan is a dangerous 3-point and mid-range shooter. He struggled shooting it consistently as a freshman but is expected to play a major role as a sophomore.
Shaun Kirk G/F Soph. Whiteville (Whiteville, N.C.) 6-8/195
Kirk is a high-flying athlete who is still developing his basketball skills but has a high upside. He can hit open 3-pointers and finish at the rim, but is still developing his ball-handling and mid-range game. Kirk should provide much-needed depth this season.
Dennis Smith Jr. PG Fr. Trinity Christian HS (Fayetteville, N.C.) 6-2/185
Smith, arguably the top incoming point guard in the country, will run the show after sitting out the spring semester to rehab his knee injury.
Darius Hicks F Fr. Twenty Two Feet HS (Quitman, MS) 6-7/210
Capable of playing both forward positions, Hicks adds athleticism and versatility to the roster. Look for him to provide valuable depth as a true freshman.
Omer Yurtseven C Fr. Fenerbahçe (Istanbul, Turkey) 7-0/240
Arguably the top prep center prospect entering the college ranks, Yurtseven is expected to impact right away for the Wolfpack.
Markell Johnson G Fr. East Tech HS (Cleveland, OH) 6-1/170
A dynamic athlete, Johnson can play both guard positions for the Wolfpack.
