Offers Accumulating For Crossen

Greensboro (Dudley) safety D.J. Crossen recently visited NC State and he talks about his interest in the Wolfpack with Pack Pride.

With many schools loading up on 2017 commitments, much attention has now been focused on the class of 2018.

One rising junior that’s seen his stock soar recently is Greensboro (NC) Dudley standout D.J. Crossen. The 6-2, 190 pound safety is already up to five offers including pledges from NC State, East Carolina, Virginia Tech, Louisville and UNC.

Crossen was scheduled to be at Virginia Tech this past Saturday with teammates Hendon Hooker and Bryson Speas. The Hokies were Crossen’s most recent offer and one that definitely caught his attention.

“Overall, the offer was amazing,” Crossen told Pack Pride. “It’s a great campus and I know they put out a lot of great defensive backs. It was just a real honor and I like the coaching staff. They really pulled me in and I got a real good vibe and connection from them.”

NC State is another team Crossen is keeping a close eye on and the Pack was actually the first team to show interest.

“Being an in-state kid I’ve always been to NC State games and watched them on TV. I’m a big fan of NC State and actually, they were the first team to look at me when I was in the 10th grade. It was my first visit so I really like it there and it’s real energetic. I like the coaches, too. I like coach White.”

Crossen has been busy this summer, attending camps at Wake Forest, UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech and Tennessee.

Despite all the early interest and offers, Crossen said he’s content to let the recruiting process play out for a while before narrowing down his focus.

“I’ve been talking to my father and we’ve been trying to set a time when I can (make a decision). Depending on how many offers I have, I plan to go into my junior year and make a top 10 and then hopefully make my decision before my senior year. I’m just really enjoying the process right now.”
