NC State Elects 2016 Leadership Council

RALEIGH, N.C. - Because leadership is one of the foundations of the NC State Football Program, election to the team's Leadership Council is a great honor. During fall camp, each position unit selects its representatives to this group that will provide guidance for the Wolfpack during the upcoming campaign.

"Leadership is something that we strive to teach our players from the moment they first walk on our campus," said Dave Doeren. "These young men will not only be leaders, but they will help their teammates develop into leaders. They take this responsibility very seriously."

The Leadership Council elected by the 2016 squad includes 14 new members, including five young men who will represent the freshman class. Senior cornerback Jack Tocho, junior offensive guard Tony Adams and redshirt sophomore quarterback Jalan McClendon were elected to the group for the third straight year.

The Leadership Council offers input for head coach Dave Doeren and the coaching staff on certain decisions and gives the players a voice if the team has an idea it wants presented to the coaches. It is comprised of players from all classes and is not a recognition of athletic prowess, but leadership ability.
