Dayes: "That Would Be Great"

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State senior tailback Matt Dayes met with the media to discuss the upcoming game against East Carolina.

"I just remember them being a really good team.  I thought they were one of the best teams I've played since being here.  We remember what they did to us, so we're going to try and return the favor this weekend."

"We don't have to explain to the team how important this game is. Everyone kind of knows. We're trying to go undefeated at home. That's the main priority now."

"[We want to build on] continuing to run the ball, and passing the ball. We have a lot of confidence in our quarterback, and the o-line was doing great. So we want to continue to run the ball, blocking, stuff like that."

"At the time, no I never really heard of them to tell the truth, but they were a pretty good team.  I was surprised by that."

"I don't know if it was important, but it was great to be out there running the ball again.  Being off the field for so long, I was really sore after the game.  It was fun being back out there. I don't know if it was important for me to have a really good game, but I guess it took pressure off the quarterback. I guess it helped us a lot."

"[The tempo] was good, but it should have been faster. This week we'll try to pick up the tempo a little bit more, and we'll be fine."

"I thought [Ryan Finley] did a tremendous job out there."

"I heard it's really loud down there. I've never played down there before, but the coaches put us in a setting. They play music loud so we get used to the noise. I know we're going to be fine."

"Not many plays were in... we'll continue to put the best gameplan in for us to be successful."

"A lot of the guys have friends on the team, but they don't really talk much about it."

"To go down there and take an away win from an in-state opponent, that would be great."

"We have a lot of great players, and whoever is touching the ball is going to make plays. I don't really think of us as a dynamic duo, but us two with the ball in our hands can do great things."
