Deslin Alexandre was one of NC State's summer commitments but as everyone knows it's never over until signing day. Other schools are still trying to convince him to change his mind but are they making up any ground on the Wolfpack?
Alexandre (6-4, 235) toes a fine line when he talks about his standing with NC State.
"I'm still solid in my commitment, but I'm still going to think about all my options too. A lot of schools are still recruiting me but some schools have pulled off a little bit."
Rutgers and ACC rivals Pitt and Syracuse were other schools that had offered Alexandre before he committed to State. Pitt and Rutgers have stayed in some contact. Florida has not been as steady in their communication but they have let Alexandre know they are paying attention to how he's doing.
Alexandre said he is happy with his commitment to NC State and is looking forward to watching the team play throughout the season.
The State coaches are trying to set up Alexandre's official visit.
"I'm thinking about the dates but I haven't set anything up yet."
George McDonald is the coach that has talked to Alexandre the most but NC State assistant coach Ryan Nielsen is another coach who talks to him often.
Deerfield Beach (FL) is off to a solid start with Alexandre playing a major role.
"The team's been great," he said. "We have to work hard and keep working hard but we should be good. There are a few things and a few minor mistakes and stuff but I've played great. I've been a leader on the field. I've gotten better at taking on the run and covering the run."
Alexandre is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com
