Fort Myers (FL) Dunbar linebacker Shanon Reid (6-1, 195) has been thinking about his college future for many months and he recently made some big decisions.
Those big decisions are about official visits. Reid gets five of them and he knows that he will take at least three. Off the top of his head he knows about two.
"I have NC State set for November when they play Florida State and I have Michigan set up for our bye week. I think I have one more set up or I'm about to but those are the two I know off the top of my head."
NC State and Florida State play on November 5 so that visit will be late in the college football season. The bye week for Dunbar's high school football team falls on September 30. However Michigan also has a bye week on that weekend so if Reid visits Ann Arbor that weekend then he would not be there for a game.
State and Michigan aren't the only two schools Reid likes these days.
"I've got a top four or top five. Something in that range. It's Michigan, Mississippi State, NC State and Colorado. It's mostly those four right now."
Over the summer Reid was able to take trips to State, Mississippi State, Maryland, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
"It was beautiful up there at North Carolina State and knowing that my aunt stays in the area like an hour away from the school helps. Just knowing I have family up there that I can go see on the weekends is great. Also I love the facilities and the coaching staff up there. I feel good about the coaches."
Reid is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 56 inside linebacker by Scout.com.null
