Locker Room Report: Wolfpack Players

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Several NC State players met with the media after the win over Notre Dame.

"Whenever you go on the field it always feels good, but when the coaches called my number I wanted to go out there and do what I was supposed to do."

"You always vision doing great stuff, so that's what I did going into the game."

"The Hurricane makes it a whole lot more fun."

"The opponent didn't matter... we say it's us against us."

"Whenever I got in the game, our first thing was to just get the first down."

"Those guys were big."

"Without the o-line nothing will happen."

"It didn't... a summer day in Michigan I guess.  It's probably one of the worst conditions I've ever played in."

"Towards the Murphy end it was a lot worse, standing water."

"At the end of the day, you just have to execute."

"It didn't look pretty, but I did enough things right."

"I had to put those points on the team for our team."

"I like to go out there as soon as I know we're going to kick a field goal."

"I was already wet enough."

"It's amazing, obviously Notre Dame they have a lot of hype around their name and here at NC State we're trying to change the culture."

"I was rushing the kick, that was my job... I saw Pharoah get up in the air. I didn't even see it, I heard it... I had to make sure I scooped and scored."

"I tried my best to take my time."

"We've talked a lot about whether to scoop or score... at that moment I didn't feel like anyone was behind me so I had enough time to scoop it up."

"Without him, there is no scoop and score."

"Hats off to him."

"It was fun.. me and Justin were talking about it like growing up. I've known Justin since the 8th grade, and these are the games we've been talking about since then.  That's the reason we came here."

"You want to play teams like Notre Dame known for having big guys, tackling in the rain.. it made it ten times more fun."

"Coach Nielsen preached to us up front that this would be won or lost up front."

"I knew the ball was wet."

"I knew it would be a big day for us up front."

"Everybody was getting stressed out with the conditions."

"Sometimes we were getting stressed out too... we had to play through it and keep fighting."

"It's huge, it's definitely momentum... I was telling guys the whole time, I love you, let's finish this game."

"Hopefully we can carry it on throughout the season."

"It was messy, but it was fun."

"The first couple of rushes he was doing rugby."

"I reached up for it."

"My hand was throbbing a little bit after that too."

"When they made a mistake we just had to execute."

"Most of the time it's just me making sure the ball was punted."

"This is a game to remember... I'll probably remember it until the day I die."

"It was a crazy atmosphere, crazy game... I'm thankful to be a part of this win.  It was a great feeling."

"My whole focus was getting the snap to the quarterback.  Snap first, block second... you saw Notre Dame, they had some trouble. I didn't want to get my name called for that."

"We were prepared. We knew it was going to be like this."

"It was a fun game. We didn't score a touchdown, but we won."

"I think so... I think that this game was all about the trenches... the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball."

"Jalan is one of the hardest workers on the team.  His number was called and he performed.... I was really happy for Jalan.  It's kind of expected though... he works so hard, prepares so well."

"That never crossed my mind... we knew we were fine and we stayed positive. That's the sign of a mature football team... we grew up... we took a step forward."

"We knew our defense was playing lights out.  We were confident in them and they were confident in us."

"I knew they were going to try me out because of last week and all that so I was prepared for the ball to come. When I picked it off, that felt great."

"Yes sir... that was meant to the crib."

"It's good motivation for next week... we'll prepare for next week one game at a time."

"It's great. I can come back and say we won on our 50th anniversary."

"I'd never played in the rain like that before. I enjoyed it... I had fun."

"It was fun."

"It took me back to my childhood... it was just fun being out there today."

"It was great to be a part of this win for this program.... we play this game for them and the fans and we play for ourselves.  It was fun."

"There were a lot of plays we weren't able to run today just because of the conditions and stuff."

"That was huge for us because we were struggling moving the ball a little bit... he came in and moved the ball for us."

"I knew my role would b ebig in this game just because of the conditions."

"I'm used to it. I lived in the Everglades so we basically played in these conditions all the time when it was raining so it was fun out there for me today."

"This is a big confidence booster."

"Confidence is a huge thing when it comes to football."
