Brewster Academy (NH) point guard Thomas Allen has signed his letter of intent to attend NC State. Allen posted the signing on Twitter.
A four-star recruit, Allen grew up in Garner (NC) and played his high school ball at Garner High School before transferring to Brewster Academy (NH) for his senior season. He is considered one of the top shooters in his class and played his prep ball with Garner Road, the same AAU program that Wolfpack star T.J. Warren and current guard Terry Henderson suited up for.
"Thomas Allen is a high-level shot maker and scorer," said Scout.com Recruiting Director Evan Daniels. "He shoots it well from deep, but is also crafty off the bounce and has developed a nice floater that he's confident in. NC State wanted to add a shooter and they are getting a good one."
"Thomas Allen is someone I pushed hard for 4-star status," added Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow. "Even though his measurables don't indicate a big-time player, he is super-skilled and has an excellent feel for the game.
"At around 6-feet tall he is one of the shortest shooting guards you will find, but he makes up for it with an elite skill in shooting the ball and a tremendous idea of how to play the game."
He is the Wolfpack's first signee in the 2017 class. NC State continues to pursue other prospects, including: wing Chuck O'Bannon Jr., post Mayan Kiir, wing Nicolas Claxton, and guard Collin Sexton among others.null
